It is unfortunate that ********************** had issues. We take every member complaint seriously, but we don't have an account in her name. However, members may instantaneously pay bills anytime except during a short window of time anywhere between 10:50 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. when the computer system is backed up. To do this members may pay with our automated phone payment system, they may download and pay via our free App, or they may log into their account at ******** to pay. And, we even have a "quick pay" option on our website that allows payment without logging in. Besides those instantaneous payment methods, we also offer many other options such as paying via mail, paying in person at our office, or enrolling in auto-**** pay.
For the protection of our members, our representatives do not usually take payments over the phone unless there are extenuating circumstances, because there are so many other more efficient ways to pay immediately. Because of this, only a few of our representatives are authorized to take payments, and only during our normal business hours. And even in normal business hours, if there is a high-volume of calls, the member may have to wait to receive a call back if they don't want to use one of the other options.
As for the **** complaint, the Power Cost Recover Factor is an adjustable factor used to recover power cost. The charge goes up or down depending on the cost of power. These costs are not marked up by us and they are just a straight pass-thru. The **** is **** and coupled with the base per kWh rate of ******, the total per kWh charge for those on Rate A, which covers most members, is ******. Each kWh purchased is what increases a member's ****. Not "extra" charges.
We are a non-profit electricity provider. We only charge what is necessary. We hope this clears up any misconception. We never want our members to be frustrated. Thank you for the opportunity to respond. If ********************** would like personal help, she may reach out to us.
