I recently had my car serviced at RC ***************************** I want to especially thank **** for his great knowledgeable service to include he showed me the part that was defective and explained to me what was causing my car not to change gears. It was a scary time for me just wondering how much a transmission repair would cost but **** explained to me what the problems might be and gave me an honest estimated cost. Thank you for helping me through this scary time. He gave me an estimate on the time it would take and he finished it early.The young man who helped me with the payment was very efficient and knowledgeable. He was the son of the owner.

Wouldn't go back here even if it was free!! Their 5 year warranty sounded good but it sure was not worth it for me. I had my transmission rebuilt by them 3 times in about 2.5 years. (Rebuilt once then had to have it rebuilt 2 more times since something wasn't fixed properly.) The last time I had to take it in I got stranded 50 miles from home & had to rent a car for almost 3 weeks! $$ They also broke off my oxygen sensor, my air purge valve, my exhaust flex pipe, left my car out of alignment (twice), didn't hook up my air box (twice), let ***** water stain the back of my car & scratched my windshield. I had to pay out of my pocket $320.73 for a rental car plus numerous 98 mile round trips to Royal Oak for them to fix the above issues. (They paid to have the above issues fixed except for the loose airbox, ***** water stain & the scratched windshield.) The ******************* I went through trying to get my transmission fixed properly at RC Trans just was not worth it.I even offered for them to just refund me my original payment plus rental car fees and I would let them out of my warranty since going by the past experience I will most likely have to take it back in again. I have all the receipts for the rental cars I was forced to rent. My last rental car fee came to $779.73! They paid $459.00 but I was still left with $320.73 out of my pocket, (even though it wasn't my fault.) As I said, I wouldn't go back to RC Trans even if it was free! :( :(

had my trans rebuilt about a year ago. went back for a fluid and filter change as per recommendation June 29, the transmission has been leaking ever since. At the time of the service I argued with the owner, foreman and tech about the torque specs of the transmission pan, even called Mercedes dealer, they wanted to torque at twice recommended. Sure enough the trans leaked, as it turned out one of the bolts were stripped, that's right they sent me down the road with a stripped pan bolt. When took it back they ran a nut and bolt thru the hole to fix the problem, and pointed out that he thought the electrical connector should be replaced, fine I said, he also pointed out that the heat shield was missing for the connector. They didn't have one or offer to get one (remember they built the transmission). The trans still leaked, brought it back, said that the bolt inside the electrical connector was stripped (WHAT!) and they would have to buy a new conductor at $450, I feel for them but I didn't strip the bolt.. so moving forward we are up to six visits, trans still leaking and I also took it to a Mercedes expert, and paid him to call them to tell them what to do. Where am I at now, it is July 20, I had the trans serviced June 29 still leaking, cant drive it much, just talked to them and they cant see me for a week, It was a week ago since it was there last. I will keep this post updated to the conclusion on my interaction with RC Trans and Gear.
