    On 5/29/22 Safeway Moving, *** picked up our items from ** to be moved to WA. Our items arrived June 15th, and at that time we were told that we would be charged an additional $1300 because the 18 ******* could not clear the driveway. Apparently, the 18 ******* chosen had an unusually low clearance. We were if 18 wheelers could deliver at our complex. They can. Many of the residents have used 18 wheelers, but they were a higher clearance. Our office manager confirmed with the company that it was only because of the extra low clearance of the truck used for our delivery, that the truck wouldn't work, and we were forced to cough up an additional $1300 to receive our items to provide for a shuttle. I understand that the shuttle is extra work, but if we had been told the truck was extra low clearance, we would have waited for one that actually worked instead of paying the additional money. We were not given the choice. To make matters worse, the team hired on the back end was the antithesis of the ** crew. One gentleman quit after a few minutes. One had been shot several times recently, was in pain, and couldn't lift anything. The third one just complained about being tired the entire time. ***, the lead, did little to help. I've attached a few photos so you can see some of the damage. The box spring was maybe 6 months old and wrapped! The ************************************************** and I watched the whole being created. My new king ******** had a hole and was ripped, and walls were damaged all over the units. I did not buy additional insurance so I understand from the contract I will receive pennies for what I will pay in replacing the items. However, I do not see in any way why I should be responsible for the shuttle costs of $1300. I have tried to get both Safeway Movers and International *** Lines who contracted this out to reimburse me, but to no avail.

    We are moving across the country. Safeway came today to pack us up. ******* (the *******) and his crew - ********************************** and ****** - spent about 9 hours packing. They were incredibly careful with the large number of fragile items we had to pack (pottery, porcelain, china, framed art), thorough and efficient. ******* kept me informed throughout the day of their progress, any issues, etc. Would highly recommend Safeway Moving Inc. to anyone in ******** needing a mover.
