On September 3, 2021, I had a technician from A Team Garage Door come to my rental property to quote a new garage door. The instructions were to match the existing door as much as possible and they told me that wouldn't be a problem (only that I'd have to paint after it was installed - totally reasonable expectation). I accepted the quote and wrote a check for 30% of the quoted price as a deposit so they could order the door, which I was told could take up to 12 weeks. By early 2022 I hadn't heard anything so I called to check on the status of my order only to find out the door had never been ordered. I was frustrated but agreed to have them order it and move forward. On April 13, 2022, they texted me to tell me they were ready to set up installation. While trying to set a date for installation it was discovered that they had ordered the wrong door (a much cheaper generic door). By this point (June 1, 2022) I was over trying to work with them and requested a return of my deposit since they had never ordered the door from my original quote and paid invoice. The woman I had been working with told me the owner would be in touch to complete the refund of my deposit. I've reached out numerous times since then and each time am assured that the owner would call. I've never heard a thing from them despite my numerous attempts. All I am seeking is a return of the deposit I paid for a door that was never ordered and work that was never completed through no fault of my own. I have been promised this refund time and time again with no follow through. I hate to file a formal complaint but that seems to be my only remaining option. They won't even give me a straight answer on how they propose to make the refund since my original payment was via check. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am providing relevant invoices and text messages. Thank you.
