$7,000.00 deposit GONE!!!!
Unethical
Poor customer service

I purchased a car from A&A Auto off of Mississippi in Denver. I want to share my experience with this car dealership. I first made an appointment to go look at a vehicle on October 6th 2020.
My dad mailed a $7,000.00 check for my down payment the next day which took 2 or 3 days before I was able to go back up there and actually get the vehicle on October 8th.
Furthermore, ***** Finance calls me in that first week to do my initial welcome call. As I am talking to the gentleman going over all of my information, he asks me if I could send him pictures of the car inside and out that included the miles on the dash. I send the pictures and I get a call back from the gentleman at ***** ********* and he asks me about the check engine light. I tell him what Eric at A&A says, that it is just on because the chip in the gas cap.
Well apparently there might be a clause that states in the contract between A&A and ***** that they are not supposed to do a loan on a vehicle sold to a customer with a check engine light on.
I began to express some of the concerns I had through my process thus far, and remind you this is the end of week 1 rolling into week 2 of having the vehicle. He told me that he would get with his manager Nina about these issues and get back with me.
One of my first red flags was how my price of the vehicle went up approx $1200 from sticker price. So that was my first question to the gentleman at ***** who initially called to do my welcome interview.
****PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF YOU FINANCE, THEY ADD AN ADDITIONAL FEE THAT IS NEVER TALKED ABOUT THAT THE FINANCE COMPANY (***** FINANCE TO BE EXACT IN MY CASE) CHARGES THEM TO FINANCE A LOAN**** Maybe I should have gotten online and read under privacy and read the fine print but I just really don’t think it should be the customers responsibility to check for errors. I should have been told up front that the sticker price would have a finance dealer fee tacked on to my sticker price because that is exactly how it is added on, to the actual price of car and not a separate line item as a finance dealer fee. Below is copied from their website…..
All advertised prices do not include the taxes, title fees, registration fees, emission and finance charges. We make every effort to provide you the most accurate, up-to-the-minute information; however, it is your responsibility to verify with the Dealer that all details listed are accurate. The dealership is not responsible for typographical, pricing, product information, advertising or shipping errors. All rates and offers are dependent on bank approval, which varies based on applicant's credit as well as the vehicle.
So the first call I received back was from Eric at A&A and he called and he mentioned that ***** had called him and said that I was a very dissatisfied customer and wasn’t happy with the vehicle etc.
After a few weeks of going back and forth with A&A and ***** *********, Nina calls me on the phone and asks me what am I going to do about the car? I was so aggravated at this time I told her to just go ahead and finalize everything with the car that it is what it is. This was on October 28th 2020, a whopping 20 days after I drove it off the lot.
I left for out of town on November 11, 2020. I was told I would get a welcome packet in the mail from ***** explaining all of my loan details and ways I would be able to set up and pay. I had still not received this by Nov 11th when I left. With that said, I also did not think for one second that after weeks of going back and forth, did I think since we just finalized everything on October 28th that my first payment was due in 5 days on November 8, 2020. This would have been a month from the date I drove the car off the lot.
I was out of town for a little over a month. I came back home on December 18th 2020. My vehicle was still parked in my building garage where I pay for parking when I come back to town. I woke up to my vehicle being towed on December 20, 2020.
I call ***** to find out what's going on and to clear this whole misunderstanding up. This was NOT a situation where paying the car note was or was going to be an issue. The gentleman I spoke to when I called them said they had not received anything back on the repossession of the vehicle so he asked if he could give me a call back when they received paperwork back from the repo.
He told me it was repo due to non-payment. Again, I explained to him that there was a misunderstanding here and asked him if I could just pay the two months and go get my car? Later that afternoon after sitting around waiting I get a call back from a girl at ***** that says she is calling to ask me a few questions which will determine if they will decide to continue my loan on my car. She asks me about my employment, and I even explained to her that this was just a misunderstanding and offered to pay her as well right then over the phone to clear up November and December. She said she would have to place me on a brief hold and when she came back she was straight to the point and said we have decided not to continue your loan, so if you are wanting to keep the vehicle I would have to give them the exact amount of the loan I had financed with them.
I asked her why they couldn’t continue my loan and she literally told me that it had to do with the fact of my relationship with the dealership. She basically said going back to my welcome call with ***** made them concerned with the things that were said about my dealings and process with the dealership, so they just decided to not continue my loan that was financed.
HERE IS THE KICKER……..How is it that you repo my car for non payment but on my credit report it shows my auto loan account in good standing and has a green check mark under payment received on time for the month of October and November. One of the reasons i had trouble trying to get the car refinanced with another finance company, so that I could pay you the full and exact amount I financed but because my previous car that was totaled was still showing due to GAP had not paid off that car, I had a car loan still for it and for the one you decided not to continue so I was having difficulties.
Eric told me that when they got the car back from the tow yard which they let just sit there for a week or more accruing a daily charge, he would go to work on getting me another loan so I could get my car back. So a couple days into trying to find another finance company Eric calls and says he is having no luck and I would need a co-signer. So as I try to get to work on getting one he does let me know that he is going to hold my car for me and that I will be able to get it back.
WHHHEEWWWW………...The weight of an elephant suddenly lifted off of my chest and shoulders. The Friday of week two of my car being towed I call him to give him my moms information to run as co-signer. I never heard anything back from him on that Friday so I called him on Monday morning to follow up. When he returned my call he said to me that they were still working on it. My exact words to him were, Okay I am just going to bite the bullet and call my dad to co-sign and he said okay.
TO DIG THE KNIFE A LITTLE DEEPER INTO MY BACK…….. Two hours later I get a call from Eric and he proceeds to tell me that my car was sold on Saturday at the other location in Englewood and that he was sorry but he had just found out.
I didn’t understand how my car got sold that was being held for me by the GM? I said I thought you were holding it for me since you were working on my new loan? It’s not like you didn’t know what was going on. Eric told me not to worry that they had plenty of cars and that they could get me in something else. So before hanging up I asked him about my down payment and he made me aware of the clause in the contract I signed with them and then let me know how much it cost them to get my car out of tow but we can work something out on a new car.
So I didn’t flip out on the phone or afterwards because I was told basically my worst fear of losing my dad's $7k over a huge misunderstanding was going to end up not being a total waste.
So I never heard from anyone for like a week after that Monday I spoke with Eric and he told me about putting my money towards something else, so I get a friend to drive me up there to see what my options are and to look at cars and Eric says he did not say that to me and that whole car deal was a done deal and my down payment was no more down payment after being ate up by the fees.
Hmmmm……..So you have a customer come in with $7,000 down payment and buys a car from you and because in the contract I signed stated “If for any reason your loan was to default with the finance company and I was to lose my car to repossession or whatever that I would owe the dealership $100 a day for every day I possessed the car from the day I drove it off the lot and I would have to also pay them $1.00for every mile i drove the car from the day I drove it off the lot.
Cutthroat
Let me make this clear that I am in no way blaming the dealership nor ***** in any way here. I am just honestly disgusted how knowing my situation had nothing to do with actually not being able to pay and how they were going to let me correct this and hold my car for me and they sold it right out from under me and then was told what was said to me wasn’t.

Customers are the reason you are in business to begin with and as a business woman I know that not all business decisions are made as a result of cost-benefit analyses or profit. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t choose an option that is a win-win and not a win-lose as you did, or why wouldn’t you have made a decision that would have made a human situation better?
You knew my situation and that my car previous was totaled but still showed on my credit waiting on GAP to pay. In chit chat you knew my dad was helping me out after going through the loss of losing my fiancé.
I would have never expected all of my deposit in return but something….anything to show you half ass care about your customer that decided to come in and give you $7,000 down.
