Took my Hyundai Sonata to Foundation Hyundai for an engine recall, after receiving approval from Hyundai corporation to replace the engine, they texted me with issues that they said they found after an eight-part inspection, I was told that they could replace the engine because it would line up with the holes in the radiator mount and that it needed to be replaced at a cost around $2000, after giving them the ok to replace the part and waiting for about two to here back to let me know if the work had been completed. I called to check on the car and was told that they could not complete it because the car had a bent frame. I asked how could the first engine be removed with no problems with the alignment and now we have this problem. this company looks as if they are trying to get as much money from customers as they can. I believe that they practice deception in nature

I want to start out by saying I have never felt more uncomfortable at a place of business than I did when I was at Boulder Hyundai. From the moment I walked in the door I should have just left, the energy in the room was not welcoming, it was empty and foreboding. They are rude and manipulative liars and i have seen others reviews since my experience claiming the same thing. If it had not been for the fact that Palisades are extremely hard to come by and are sold before they even hit the lot, I would have just got my hold deposit back and not even bothered with a test drive. I will start from the beginning; I was not in dire need of a new car. For months I had been getting contacted by dealers wanting to buy back my Santa Fe, so I decided to take the plunge and just see what came out of it. I had done several appraisals including the appraisal tool from Boulder Hyundai’s website; I had a pretty good idea of the range my Santa Fe’s worth should have been in. I saw the Palisade on their website and called to check the availability. I spoke with a Todd that Monday evening, and he said there was no reason I would not be at the higher end of the appraisal (obviously I did not take this to literally, but it was appreciated to confirm I was in the correct ballpark. So, I put a hold on the vehicle and went after work the next day. I walk in the dealership and get introduced to the salesman (this is where he shook my hand and is the only time, he looked me in the eye). He went to get the keys to the Palisade so I could go look at it and then some random guy who I then found out later was the financing guy for the evening; walks up and says “Do you have another set of Tires? I reply with “excuse me?” him “Those tires on your Santa Fe need to go do you have the original set? “I tell him no I don’t have the original set that the tires on it are brand new less than a year old. (Please remember I live in Colorado in the country, and I am a landscape photographer, so I keep my tires in immaculate condition and always put on All Terrain Tires. He did not introduce himself; I had no idea what his name was later found out it was Bob? He had not even walked outside to look just saw it parked from the window. His then response was “well give me the keys.” I was appalled and I had only been inside 5 minutes. I go for the test drive and absolutely love the vehicle. I return to the dealership to start running numbers. The salesman disappears as soon as we walk inside for a good 15 min. he comes back with a piece of paper and the offer for my Santa Fe was extremely low. All he says was does this look perfect. I tell him no I do not like those numbers especially the appraisal quote. (Remember he is not actually talking to me he is just looking over my shoulder). He asks what I believe the quote should be, so I pull out the appraisal from their website and then tell him what Todd had told me the night before. The look on his face is literally like flabbergasted that I had done my homework. He disappears for another ten minutes behind the glass wall and returns 5 min later with a $2000 increase on the quote. Went from $19000 to $21000 quick. Then he asks about the other numbers if I thought the monthly payment looked good. They lowest price was $800/month and when I asked what the interest rate was, he said that did not matter. He responds with “well you still don’t look happy let me see what I can do, if you would have come when Todd was here you would have got the higher end of your appraisal with no problem.” I find that response to be very unprofessional, should I have just left and came back the next day? So, he disappears again and then I could tell they finally ran my credit with all the alerts I was getting. So, he returned with another sheet of offers all expecting a minimum of 5000 down still no APR’s and then he says pick one and well start the paperwork that this was the best they could do. By this point of overwhelmed by the constant whispering and disappearing, not having my questions answered that I am just ready to leave, and I will take the chance of the car being gone and I just Want to go home. When he finally comes back 20 minutes later, I ask for my hold refund back and my keys. It took me 45 minutes to get them back. I felt like a hostage and thought I was going to have to call the cops. I finally get my things and leave the dealership completely distraught. I go home and tell my mom about everything, so she calls them. And she ends up talking to the manager Justin Helmick who said that his computer showed my appraisal offer at 23000! He said he would send my mom a screenshot of this offer. I have them hold the car I was just going to acquire my own financing and then return. Two hours later he sends the offer for 22000 so now we have gone back down another grand. He said everyone at the dealership had a problem with my clunky tires. (I have screenshots of this conversation.) We called up another dealer (Greeley Hyundai) just to get their input. I have had great dealings with them in the past. And was maybe hoping they could do a dealer transfer, being that I had already acquired my own financing. I had 2 preapproval letters in under 20 minutes for the full amount without having to put 8000 dollars down. (This is not an exaggeration this was in the offer screenshot to get 23000 for my trade in.) The manager at Greeley was appalled he told me to let that car go, there was no way he would be able to get boulder Hyundai to release it and he would find me another one. He put me in contact with one of his people and we got to work on looking for my Palisade. I was defeated I loved that car in Boulder, but Greeley Hyundai gave me hope back. That night I went home and saw an ad for McDonald Hyundai, so I decided just to look and then began my journey to my perfect Palisade. Yes, this one is missing a couple things I had wanted but I gained an amazing experience and new friends at McDonald Hyundai. The manager at McDonald also confirmed I should have called 911 when I was at Boulder. I hope this actually gets read and would love to hear back from Hyundai.
