On April 9th the 1st phase, Hopkins moved approximately 40% of our furniture into storage at their location while a section of our 1st floor hardwood was being repaired. On April 17th Hopkins moved another 40 % of our furniture and belongings into storage while the remaining floors were repaired. On June 23th Hopkins & Sons Hopkins moved our furniture and belongings that they maintained in storage since April 9th and 17th to our new home. On June 25th Hopkins moved the remaining furniture and belongings from our former home to our new home. Hopkins & Sons had maintained and charged us to maintain and safeguard our furniture in their storage units for 77 days. Once in our new home with our furniture we noticed damaged and missing items. When we contacted Hopkins & Sons about these items, we were informed that we had 7 days to claim and identify those items. And since we were beyond 7 days Hopkins & Sons said that they were no longer liable. During the move process, after each move, we
Our grandfather clock needs to be repaired. The pendulum disk does not maintain movement, our clock is out of beat due to the move and needs to be adjusted.
Our kitchen set glass table top is broken and we would like to have it replaced with glass of the same size and thickness.
We would like to have the motor to our lounge chair replace.
My family began a relocation process from our former home to a new home on April 9th, 2021. We decided to hire Hopkins & Sons, Inc.(address) to move and store our furniture and belongings. Because of the size of our former home (5500 sq ft) and the work that was scheduled to prepare it for sale, we decided to perform the move in 3 phases.

During the move process, after each move, we were asked to sign papers stating there was no damage or missing item. I told the lead mover, Joe, that we could not tell in 2 minutes if everything was ok. He said we needed to sign that we received our items.
We paid Hopkins & Sons a total of $5,046.00 for the safe keeping of our furniture and belongings in moving and storage. Now we find that we have a broken glass table top, a missing lounge chair motor and a grandfather clock that no longer works. Hopkins & sons are responsible and admits that they are, but states that they were not informed within 7 days of final delivery.
