      I am very disappointed to have to write a review like this. I support small businesses and my first experience with Ben and the Great Maintenance Company was very good. I hired them for a second job and it was a very unfortunate and disappointing experience. I know business are having a difficult time of it but they did not show up on the original two times/dates for the work. When they did, I was not informed until after that they had completed the work, thought I asked to be there. I was out of town when they completed it and I made the mistake of approving the payment. Within a short time, I realized they missed a small but important part. I left messages, made multiple appointments for them to come out and complete the work and all 4 times, they did not show up or cancelled. I have no confidence in this company now and when I asked for 10% back so I could hire someone to finish the job, Ben accused me of trying to take advantage of him. I was shocked as I had really been so understanding and kind. I am just so sad and I feel stupid for paying for work and trusting them to follow their word. It is unfortunate all the way around. Unfortunately they are not reliable and now I don't feel they are honest and certainly did not make efforts to try to even call to discuss- only texts. I will try to support local businesses- just not this one.

      Good afternoon. We are sorry with your dissatisfaction with our company. We worked for Anne D******* approx. 3 months ago. We walked around the property to inspect all work was performed as described via the provided contract and received the all clear of our work through your authorized on-site contact Shirley. We did wait for several days for a final completion payment giving the homeowner plenty of opportunity to inspect our completed work prior to providing payment. We do all of our work to the best of our ability and above industry standards. Approx. after 2 months after the final payment the homeowner stated she was getting squirrels in the soffit. A few days later Anne claimed we missed a 4ft. section of soffit, which in my opinion would have been caught on multiple walk arounds that were completed by several people. We did schedule an appointment to come out and look at the described issue, but due to staffing and awaited test results from urgent care covid tests we were unable to make the 2 scheduled appointments which we properly communicated prior to appointment deadline and rescheduled for Monday, January 24th 2022. We communicated with Anne via text giving her a 30 minute notice that we would be at the property to inspect the issue. We also stated that if it were recently incurred damage that we would have to charge her a small amount for the needed repair, at which point she stated she wanted a $500.00 refund, in which the total soffit repair job only totaled $1,720.00 which would make $500.00 more than the described 10% requested, after doing the calculations it is near 30% and for one small hole it would be trying to take advantage of our kindness, we stated that this repair would not require $500.00 and would be happy to fix it if it were due to our negligence. Rodent damage can occur at any point in time. The owner refused to let our company come out and address the described issue. We do strive to be kind and courteous and would like the opportunity if given to make this right if it is due to our mistake. We stand behind our work as many of our other customers know.

      Ben has a right to express his side of the story but many of his points are not correct. He also failed to mention the several missed appointments in the weeks after the issue was reported that were not related to Covid and focused only recently on the missed appointments he ties to staffing and COVID. I am so disheartened to have him accuse me of taking advantage of him when they have not acted in good faith. My total bill for all work was almost $5000.00 and so $500 is 10% of the total bill I had.
      As you can see by his deflecting and very selective response, there is no recognition on his part that the work (which was not started as scheduled and then completed whilst I was out of town) was not complete. It was not able to be seen from the ground during walk around and only able to be seen when inspected from a ladder.
      No matter what I say, he will have his interpretation. I have never left a negative review on BBB and you anyone seeking their services can do so. I just felt compelled to state my experience and my reservations about the integrity of this business. Very disappointing.
