In the Spring of 2022 I had a bad chimney crown with bricks loosened across the top layer for some months. I reviewed a number of chimney repair companies. Some wanted thousands of dollars and appeared shady in their documentation. Centerville Pipestone Chimney Services LLC was contacted previously in the Summer of 2021. A fair and reasonable quote which clearly described the required work was given. They honored the quote even though it was the previous year. They offered a 4 inch thick cement crown with 1 1/2 inch overhang, remove and re-lay the top brick layer and a waterproofing for an 8 year warranty on the work done. The existing chimney only had about a 1 ½ inch crown or less and no overhang. I selected them and contacted Alicia their Administrative Manager. She was very polite and knowledgeable setting up the work. The repair crew arrived on schedule, completed the work and cleaned up the area in a timely manner. A frame was placed to pour and set the cement crown. Days later it was removed and revealed a fine piece of work, with all bricks even and uniform. I asked about some small missing mortar spots in the lower chimney from years of use, and the crew later returned and filled all areas at no extra charge. Chris the Company Owner then conducted a final inspection with me before the waterproofing was done. I was impressed with their quality repair and professionalism. They stand behind their work, and with an 8 year warranty which no one else has. Now after a year the chimney appears excellent, with the best crown it’s ever had. Even other neighbors have commented on its appearance. I highly recommend this outstanding company and its fine staff.Review from Kris K

Centerville Pipestone was supposed to arrive this morning between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. I stayed home from work to be here for this appointment because Pipestone would not schedule later in the afternoon. This appointment was scheduled 3 weeks ago. At 9:30 I received a call saying that I would have to be rescheduled because it was raining and Pipestone was not going to ask an employee to come in for just one call. My repair work is inside, on my living room fireplace, which could be done even though it is raining. The work was to re-do work that had previously been done and failed. I asked for a courtesy call from the owner of the company to request that I not be rescheduled because I had taken off work to be home. I have not received a call. This was the second time I had this experience with Centerville Pipestone. The first time I came home from work early to keep an appointment and they called 30 minutes past the scheduled arrival time to say they were not coming. No apologies or recognition of how my schedule had been changed twice to be available to accommodate appointments. The owner may know how to fix chimneys, but he sure does not know how to run a business.

All the work for that day was rescheduled due to inclement weather. It is policy, and done as a courtesy to our customers, to ensure there is no master inconvenience. When our office contacted customer to reschedule, she was not interested in rescheduling. The owner contacted the customer and offered various solutions, including sending someone out that afternoon when the weather cleared. All solutions offered were refused. Finally, the customer was offered the solution to refund her entirely, which she also refused. Although she saw no resolutionAll the work for that day was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
