Marketing Specialist

The Council of Better Business Bureaus is seeking an experienced Marketing Specialist to join our Marketing team to support overall business objectives. This mid level position, located in our offices in Arlington, VA will support the marketing needs of various clients from across the BBB organization in order to raise the visibility of BBB programs.

Essential Duties will include:

  • Creates and manages constituent databases.
  • Coordinates internal communications and updates.
  • Conducts research on markets, products/services, competitors, and corporations.
  • Assists in writing and editing sales and marketing materials, including white papers, presentations, articles, and collateral materials.
  • Ensures that all locally-developed creative marketing materials undergo brand review and adhere to strict brand guidelines
  • Manages marketing campaigns via email and other channels.
  • Maintains the organization’s marketing calendar.
  • Provides organizational and logistical support for events.
  • Tracks and analyzes campaign performance data.
  • Manages Google AdWords campaigns.
  • Communicates with internal and external clients to understand and document the business objectives
  • Formulates and analyzes plans and acquires client sign-off
  • Designs or assists in the development of questionnaires and moderator guides to ensure the necessary data is captured
  • Conducts in-depth data analysis using traditional and advanced quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Authors reports containing actionable recommendations
  • Makes presentations—answering questions and instilling confidence with audiences ranging including CBBB senior staff, CBBB Board and Committee members, BBB CEOs and National Partners

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years within the market research industry or other directly relevant experience.
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
  • Background in Google Adwords, traditional and digital marketing
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities
  • Expertise with Excel, PowerPoint, and SPSS/SAS and other tools typically used in performing the assigned functions.
  • Possesses skills in project management
  • Understands marketing principles
  • Understands new technologies and how to apply them to marketing
  • Understands/is experienced with both traditional and social media
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exhibits a customer service orientation
  • Multi-tasks, sets priorities, takes initiative, and works individually to complete projects
  • Demonstrates ability to solve problems, to analyze systems and data to suggest appropriate solutions
  • Pays attention to detail and accuracy
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, statistics or mathematics required. MS preferred. 2 to 3 years of applicable experience preferred, preferably with an association or other not for profit organization. Strong analytical skills and a high comfort level manipulating data to identify key trends and to recommend campaign actions to grow revenue.
