I put down a payment for a car, aug 1 2022 The guy was putting together prices. He put my license info in, and took my social I gave him $3,000 down payment and signed the paper under false pretenses. He told me the paper I have is a rough amount with my down payment. He didn’t take any pay stubs as he proceeded to explain to me about giving me a rough estimate on the car. I told him online the price of the car is less than what he told me. I spoke with the owner and my down payment was refunded. He begin to get hostile with me and threatening me , I proceeded to call 911, I was walking away he told me he flagged my social card for fraudulent deal! The owner told me to sign the paper on the refund, I did that than asked for a copy, the guy snatched the paper from me and made a copy with the words fraud all over it. He lied to me he walked me through the contract and made up payments and insurance prices without any paystubs or etc. when I told him about the down payment policy being passed 3 days in their possession; they’ll have the right to keep the payment and sell the car. I came back within an hour of leaving my down payment with them. I asked him about the outstanding balanced with the car and he said that’s not the correct calculations that’s roughly the amount and once Ilhe hear back from his boss we’ll meet up in a few days and finalize everything due to the fact I didn’t have all the legal paperwork to complete the transaction. It’s shady business and I was handled poorly . If theirs a flag on my social for fraudulent deal, it’ll break my confidence in Hartford dealers today! Please help! Which he also lied when I brought the car price up to him he answered by saying the disclaimer in the photo for the car says different .
