    I lost power to my house during a storm. My heating pipes froze and cracked, leaving me without heating. I agreed to work with Deitch Energy on Jan 23. They started work on January 25 and have been at my house a total of 23 hours. These hours were over the course of 7 days. I have timestamps and footage of how many technicians were present. The work agreed upon was to replace the cast iron baseboards on the second level of my house, check to see if the third level of baseboards were working, order the appropriate materials and then start the work. Their estimate for the work was $21K, with a deposit of $10K. I paid the deposit on January 24. Parts arrived Feb 8th, no work has been done with the parts whatsoever. Over the course of the project the contractor has lied to me repeatedly. They show up unexpectedly. They have been negligent in their work. They have put off urgent parts of the work numerous times. They have caused further damage to the house in the process. They’ve left heating pipes exposed in negative degree temperatures. Left insulation directly in front of a spacer heater. Etc. All of the above has made me unsure about their competency for the job, but because of the urgency of the repair and the deposit I had paid, I continued working with them. Feb 10, I contacted the supplier to ask how we fix/replace some of the parts ordered that seemed to be wrong and afterwards an owner at Deitch tried to intimidate and bully me. They then decided to no longer work on the project. I agree parting ways is the right choice. Due to the volatility of this company, I no longer feel comfortable with them at my house. I am seeking mediation because, I want to make sure the work with them is finished in a way where I am not harassed, bullied or taken advantage of financially. I want to make sure I am not responsible for the wrong supplies or overpricing of materials, as I am assuming that is why they did not want me to speak to the supplier. Thank you, ******* ****

    We have used Deitch (formerly Kasden) for almost 30 years and have nothing but good things to say about their service. They literally recognize my voice when I call and are always responsive to our needs. Like all home related services these days they are swamped with calls so you might have to wait a little for them to come, but they will help you. I would give them the highest rating.
