            My car was leaking coolant in September. It was quickly identified by my husband that is was coming from the water pump. My 2016 ****** has a warranty for the water pump/coolant leak so I immediately made an appt. with Curran VW. Curran VW advised me this was not covered on warranty because "whoever was doing my oil changes was overfilling the oil causing it to spill over and erode the plastic of the water pump, making the coolant leak". Curran refused and said this doesn't fall under warranty. I paid around $1700 for this total fix which included changing a serpatine belt. I filed a complaint with valvoline oil because they do my oil changes, they immediatlely called me back and said the dealership was providing false information. They reassured me there was no way the technicians were overfilling my oil because they show the level every time and if the oil was spilling over my engine would have seized a long time ago. The alluded to the fact that Curran was giving me the "run around" just to make money. I let this go, just feeling a financial loss. Three weeks later my car started alarming "engine failure no oil". I towed it home and my husband noticed a very old looking serpatine belt had snapped off. I brought the car back to Curran VW and questioned this. They reported that the belt snapped and broke the sensor in the car that alerts about oil. This was covered with no cost. I am filing the complaint because it feels like this dealership is fraudulent. We have pictures of the belt and my husband is convinced they never changed this belt and still charged me, how can a "new belt" snap 3 weeks later? And my car should have been covered under the water pump warranty from the first visit. Curran VW a. refused to perform a service under a warranty with a false story about oil changes. Curran VW either never replaced my belt or placed an old belt in my car and charged me for it (we have pictures). I lost a week of work and they would not give me a loaner car.

            I purchased my Allroad from here and while at first everything was great. A week and a half later and 433 miles my oil min light came on. I contacted the dealer and explained what happened. They promptly scheduled me for a service appointment to do a part 1 oil consumption. So I take my ferry ride there and back no problem. Less than a week later the light came back on and my service appointment wasn’t for a few more days and didn’t want to risk damaging the engine so I parked it and took Uber to and from work until it was time for my appointment. I had the car towed from my house to the ferry terminal get on a ferry and drive to the dealer as it’s 5 minutes away. They do part 2 of the consumption test and it’s deemed that the car needs the engine rebuilt due to defective piston rings. Ok great. I speak with the used car manager I’m told that he would buy the car back from me for 16k which is about 8000 less than what I paid for it. What kind of bull s is that? Or they will repair the car at employee cost which seems fair except that cost has to come out of my pocket. This isn’t a 500.00 repair this will cost thousands! These people don’t care about you, your car or your money. Steer clear of this place. No morals whatsoever. They sold me a car that has serious issues and try to scree me out of a bunch of money buying it back. The proper way would be to refund me every cent or pay for the repair plain and simple. Don’t risk your financial well being buying a car from here. I thought I finally found a dealer I could trust with my business and my money turns out they are all the same. Customer satisfaction is horrific. Instead of fixing the issue properly and keeping a customer they’ve made an enemy. It’s easy lose the money now to make the money on repeat business. This won’t be the last place my opinion about Curran vw gets noticed.
