Congratulations to BBB's Torch Award Recipients!

BBB announced the three winners of the Torch Award at their luncheon ceremony on June 12 at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, NH.

Manchester, NH - The 2014 BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics was a day of celebration at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Manchester. Perfect record recipients were recognized, scholarships were presented and the announcement of the three BBB Torch Award recipients were among the highlights of the day's events.

“What a wonderful day,” stated Robert Shomphe, President/CEO of BBB Serving New Hampshire. "Celebrating marketplace ethics among some of New Hampshire's top business leaders is as much of an honor for us as it is for the businesses receiving an award."

One business in each of the three size categories (small, medium & large) were recognized as a BBB Torch Award winner. The small category winner was Russell Auto Inc. located in Manchester, NH. President, Wayne Russell serves as chairperson for Manchester School of Technology Automotive Advisory Committee and serves on the Manchester Community College Automotive Advisory Committee. Russell Auto just celebrated their 49th anniversary at their Manchester location and has three generations working together to make their company the best it can be.

The medium category winner was Elm Grove Companies, a full service real estate company with a corporate office located in Manchester, NH. The Elm Grove team prides itself in forming partnerships and having high ethical standards in business operations and communications. They feel customer service is of the utmost importance in their industry, which is evident in their availability to customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

The large category winner was Polaris Direct, located in Hooksett, NH. Polaris Direct has been a past recipient of the Women Business Enterprise Star award for success in business and commitment to diversity initiatives. They are dedicated to partnering with their clients in developing long-term strategies for creating cost-effective direct mail programs that integrate across channels.

In addition, the five recipients of BBB’s Student Ethics Scholarship Program were recognized at the Torch Awards luncheon. Each recipient received a $2,000 scholarship from BBB to be used to further his or her education. This year's scholarship recipients were: Kayla Labbe, Hooksett, NH; Alexandra Archambeault, Strafford, NH; Alexandra Aleka, Windham, NH; Anna White, Mont Vernon, NH; and Michael Meroff, Rochester, NH. BBB | NH has awarded over $40,000 to New Hampshire students who have demonstrated outstanding prowess in academics, leadership, community service, and personal integrity.
