    I have done business with this company for over 10 years. Our unit went out 6 months after warranty ran out. Had the choice to replace part or replace unit. Part was half cost of new unit so that's what I did. They gave a quote and because I trusted them I did not ask for details of what they were to install. Big mistake! I assumed for the high price they quoted I was getting a current efficient unit with a much higher SEER rating than what we had! I should have gotten a second opinion but since I had been a customer for 10 years I thought they would treat me fairly. Again another big mistake. What they installed was a current model of the exact same unit they put in 10 years ago. No increase in SEER rating at all and no more efficient than what we had. Since the unit went out 6 months out of warranty I would never have agreed to a replacement with the same unit! My fault not getting anything in writing. I feel very mislead, deceived and taken advantage of by a company I thought I could trust. By the time I realized what they had done the new unit was installed and I had no other option but to pay for it and chalk it up to a valuable lesson learned. Don't ever trust a company no matter how long you have done business with them. Get everything in writing before you get deceived as I was.

    Notes:

    This was a customer that had a cracked collector box and rusted out heat exchanger. The existing equipment was a Tempstar gas pack and it was 10 ½ years old and out of warranty. The customer was quoted to replace the gas pack and no reference was made to wanting to explore different equipment. As our main brand is Tempstar the technician quoted her to replace it with a new Tempstar gas pack. The new Tempstar is the latest version of this series of gas pack at a comparable seer rating. Upon completion of the installation the customer then made reference to the gas pack being the same model number as her prior gas pack and would not pay the technician. The technician called her back and she apologized for her prior stance on not paying as she had looked at the model number again and it was very similar, but it was different.
