Purchased the mini cooper countryman in feb 2012, been taking it there for all maintenance, dec 2021 took it in for routine oil change and was told there was a failing turbo and timing chain issue, still drivable. Repairs over 9000 dollar estimate. I looked up mini cooper countryman turbo and discovered there is a known issue for failing turbos covered by warranty for the same year make and model of my car. Classic Mini refused to acknowledge, saying my car was "not on the list of VINs". I called mini warranty multiple times in December to discuss, was assigned a case manager (never got back to me). Escalated to supervisor also failed. Jan 17 car stopped running, had it towed to classic mini, nobody called to discuss, i made a call to acknowledge they received and possible starting issue. Was told immediately, before they looked at the car, that they could pop a battery in for 400 dollars, i declined and prefered diagnostic testing... after three days was told its not the battery possible compression issue. I called back later after speaking with wife to go ahead with repairs to get car running.... but was unable to get anyone from maintenance to pickup a call. Left messages many times, no returned calls. Drove up to classic Mini, car was buried under snow, and was told it needs a new engine and I should buy a new car. Went from routine oil change, unable to contact for 3 weeks, to me physically driving up there and being told my car is useless. I don't believe they have spent the necessary amount of time with the car or myself. Car only has 70000 miles on it. Spoke with service manager, said he would personally take care of it and call me on Monday Feb 7. ... he didn't call.
