      Beware! I have had my accounts with Cenfed for about 20 years, and used them for an auto loan. and large, life changing, wire transfers. I no longer feel like Century Federal operates with its members in mind at all. They are all about profits! Did you know that if you discontinue direct deposit and also save money rather than spend it they set your account to dormant! I have never been so disgruntled working with a bank before, AND I USED TO BANK AT ***** so that says something. When I called to resolve the issue I was told I needed to go online and print the form to reactivate my accounts, fill it out and I must MAIL it back (it requires a copy of you photo ID and a signature). Please keep in mind I have a checking and savings both with over, a combined, $5000 in them. Also note that the account was only placed as dormant after I went online and changed to paperless 7 months after I realized they were charging me $10/mo for the printout of the statement. Literally one month after I was active online asking for paperless statements, they placed my account as dormant. Wasn't that activity? What a racket! I have never heard of such things with a credit union. To top it off I have tax returns set to deposit into these accounts and I was told they would be returned since the account was technically not open for activity. I can't wait to see how long the IRS takes to get that straightened out! ALL ABOUT PROFITS! GIVE ME MY MONEY!

      I have been a loyal member of the credit union for over 11 years without any negative issues related to my account. I went in to the North Olmsted branch to deposit a check, thinking that it would take a shorter length of time for the funds to deposit into my credit union account as opposed to depositing the check at my other bank (which is closer to me) and doing a bank-to-bank transfer. The teller in the branch took my check and after everything was over, she mentioned that my funds would be held for 7 business days. It has NEVER taken any of my checks that long to deposit. I read the Member Services agreement and no where did it list 7 day holds on a check. I called and talked to the Branch Manager to ask why and mention that what they are doing is out of line with their policy, and he insulted me by asking me the nature of the check that I was depositing and why the company was giving me a check in the amount that it did, as if that is any of his business. Never have I overdrawn my account, never have I deposited bad checks. They admitted that the teller didn't know me, so that opens the door to bias behavior. The more I look into it, the North Olmsted Branch violated the Expedited Funds Availability Act of 1987 which guarantees me to at least the first $200 of my deposited check after the first business day. The teller is holding my ENTIRE check for seven business days. Had I known this would happen, I would have just deposited my check in my other bank account and manage my account the way I normally manage it. Horrible and demeaning service.

      This review is about the strongsville branch of century federal credit union and the branch manager Peggy. I spoke with peggy the day before I went into the branch on 07/02/2021. I was there to request information and find a solution to the current problem I am having. I walked into the brach with my father and a one of the loan officers asked if she could help us. We said yes and explained our situation Peggy had over heard the conversation and started becoming very loud and rude and went on to say I don't have time for this and I told you on the phone yesterday etc... her attitude and tone was very rude and was completely unprofessional. I have been a member of this credit union for over 15 years and have never been treated so poorly by anyone not only at century federal or at any other business tb 100% honest. I do not understand how Century Federal could allow someone so unpleasant be one of their branch managers. I will be filing a complaint with their main offices. Get better branch managers who are willing to have a cool head and understand where their customers are coming from and be reasonable. Peggy is not reasonable does not have the attitude to be in front of customers and does not have the ability to understand where her customers are coming from . I will no longer be doing business with that branch until they have a new branch manager.
