For our 1971 Cape Cod (1-1/2 story) house, our April 2023 project consisted of KasselWood Aged Cedar steel shingles with ridge vents, gutters & downspouts, aluminum fascia, and hidden vent soffits. We are fully satisfied with all aspects of the products and the process. But perhaps most importantly, Distinctive Metal Roofing helped us correct a serious problem with ventilation that had existed since the house was built. There had never been proper air flow from under the eaves up to the peak of the roof, because the space between the angled portion of the 2nd floor ceiling and the roof had been blocked with insulation. To correct the problem while maintaining the insulation for the 2nd floor living space, they had to remove all the roof decking in this area and install baffles above the insulation, then install new 1/2" plywood decking. Finally, they advised that we needed to block all 4 existing gable vents so that all ventilation would occur from the under the eaves to the ridge vents. We did this on our own after the roofing job was completed. We're writing this review 10 months later, and we can say that during the summer we noticed a significantly cooler house, especially the 2nd floor, which we attribute to both the great reflective nature of the coating on the KasselWood shingles combined with our now-resolved ventilation problem, both thanks to Distinctive Metal Roofing.

Bruce, Gary and their expert crew were a pleasure to work with, from estimating to scheduling to installation to cleanup to followup. For about twice the price of a short-lived (and environmentally filthy) asphalt shingle roof, I have a stunning -lifetime- metal roof.

High quality and high service; low pressure and low hassle. Bruce gave us as much information, and time to digest it, as we needed. He answered all of our questions, even those we probably repeated as we educated ourselves about the cost and value of metal roofing. Gary was great about scheduling our job, and about keeping us posted on minor timing changes due to weather. The crew is professional and -- which our children loved -- friendly! We can’t say enough about Distinctive Metal Roofing!!! I contacted Bruce ***** and he returned my call the same day. He was very professional, courteous, friendly, and informative. He answered all of our questions and educated us about the different types of metal roofing. He came to our house, took some measurements, checked some things, and brought many samples for us to look at. Again, answered more questions we had for him, and gave us a detailed estimate. All the while, never pressuring us at all, even though it was a two plus hour drive for him to our home. Gary ***** handles the installation; he was in contact with us, gave us a start date and kept us well informed. Materials and dumpster were delivered when Gary said they would be. Installation started the day they said it would, and everything was handled exactly like it was explained. The installers, Will and his crew of six are true craftsmen. They were also very courteous, and answered all of our questions. Site clean-up was done daily, and Gary was on hand during installation. Both Bruce and Gary were only a phone call away. They always returned calls and took care of any concerns. Gary also took drone pictures of the finished product and emailed them to us. We also had new soffit, fascia and gutters installed. The house looks great, but what’s more, this is the last roof we will have to put on! From start to finish, Distinctive Metal Roofing is a top notch, no nonsense company that does what they say they will do.
