We purchased new flooring from Calvetta Brothers last Sept, and it was recently installed. Their initial measurement of our home was 140 sqft more than another company which sent up a red flag. A second measurement was closer. After the install started we noticed that the flooring being installed was not what we ordered. It was the same MFG and color, but a less expensive version. This was immediately brought to their attention and they explained that what we ordered was back ordered and they simply forgot to check with us before switching to a different product. This was another red flag. They did apologize and discount our order after this issue was raised, but would they have adjusted it if we hadn't noticed the difference? They also offered to get the flooring we did order, but our home was already torn up. After speaking with the salesman I'm not sure they would have adjusted the price. The owner also called to apologize, and indicated this isn't how they do business, but my wife and I both felt this is their standard operating procedure. Apologize when caught or earn a nicer profit margin. We'll never know for sure.
