Gain By Giving

The benevolence of the Greater Cincinnati area doesn’t go unnoticed during times of disaster. When the call goes out for donations of cash, products, or time, many people step forward with their wallets and hands open, all asking the same question “how can I help?” But sometimes, the organizations that work to collect those contributions need a little help too.

BBB Center for Ethics has worked hard to implement a program that allows businesses and charities to connect with one another to make the community a better place. The program - called Gain by Giving - officially launches Friday, Oct. 20.

Gain by Giving was designed to fulfill operational needs encountered by area Accredited Charities, and it gives BBB Accredited Businesses the opportunity to lend a helping hand. Interested organizations are encouraged to visit gainbygiving.org, as that is where everything comes together; charities can list what they need, and businesses can post what they can give.

BBB Center for Ethics will act as a facilitator, bringing the Accredited Charities and Businesses with similar goals together to fulfill the requests. This not only gives the nonprofits the boost in morale they need, it also creates lasting relationships between community leaders.

“The Center saw a need for this service after both businesses and nonprofits came to us to ask for help," said Corrie McGlothlin, Program Director for BBB Center for Ethics. "We felt Gain by Giving was the perfect connection point between those that have and those that need. It truly is a way for everyone to pitch in to help one another, creating stronger ties between the business and charitable sections of our community.”

BBB Center for Ethics is excited about the launch of the program and urges area Accredited Businesses and Charities to determine if Gain by Giving is right for them. More information is available on the Center’s website or by calling 513-639-9101
