People Working Cooperatively, Schneller Plumbing Heating & Air, Inc., Staley Transformations, LLC and Stepping Stones, Inc. were acknowledged as winners in the 16th Annual BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics held in the Pavilion Ballroom at JACK Cincinnati Casino, Thursday, Oct. 20.
ProMaster Home Repair & Handyman of Cincinnati and The GutterShutter Companies were acknowledged as honorees.
This year's Torch Award ceremony was held during the lunch hour and received a significant turnout that included respected businesses and nonprofits from the Cincinnati area.
The winners were given well-deserved praise for their efforts, which involved an evaluation of their organization's ethical practices and policies judged by a third-party panel. BBB Center for Ethics hosted the event and, under its new mission "to provide ethics education, direction, and recognition to employers and employees of today and tomorrow," highlighted the dedication and passion the winners and honorees displayed in all aspects of their work.
“Our winners take great pride in ensuring an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust one another. This honor is earned through an exhaustive self-evaluation. The end result is an extraordinary recognition from their peers and the community,” said Jocile Ehrlich, President and CEO of BBB.
Applications for the 2017 BBB Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics are available online at torchapp.org, and a workshop is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 17 to help those who want to learn more about the application and judging process.
