I am the Director for *********** County EMS. We are in a contractual agreement with Medicount Management. Approximately two weeks ago I sent an email to Arnold M*** with Medicount stating that I would like to break the agreement do to lackluster performance and the fact the I had not received website access since taking over in July. At that time Medicount had a law firm send certified letters to several people, mostly people not even affiliated with *****. Multiple certified letters went to our competitors. Other than the letters the only thing I received from them was an encrypted email that I was unable to open . After this email Ted Jennings with Medicount contacted a ***** employee threatening to either write everything off or just keep all remaining monies. Yesterday 10/17/23 I sent a second email to Mr. M*** stating that I would like to break the contract and continue with another company. Shorty after sending the email i I received a phone call from Mr. M***. During a very heated conversation Mr. M*** stated he was not interested in any complaints that I might have only telling me that he was either going to sue me or just keep all money coming in. That makes twice for the same threat! Later in the day I received a message from my employee that Medicount had locked her out of the system. The numbers used to bill private insurances, ********, and Medicaid belong to ***** not Medicount. The contract states the Medicount receives 9.75% of all incoming money not 100%. The penalties for breaking a contract surely can’t be 100% of everything remaining.
