Stepping Stones provides year-round recreation and other activities for children and adults who are handicapped. Through its programs, the organization helps individuals with developmental disabilities find pathways to independence and enables them to more fully participate in their communities. Stepping Stones has day and overnight camps for children with developmental disabilities and their siblings and can provide alternative education to students with autism who have exhausted options in the traditional school system. According to the organization, in 2016, BeauVita West, an agency serving adults with disabilities, joined the Stepping Stones family, creating a fourth location for Stepping Stones.
