I opened a checking account with Fifth Third Bank on March 22,2024. I advise them I had a check to be deposited with them in few weeks. I was aware it take few days to clear. Came in to the branch in ****** ******* location off ******** **** **** at around March 28, 2024 to deposit 15k. The teller did not ask for the pay stub associated with the check, I ask the teller wouldn't she need the check stub to make a copy since it was for this amount. She advise no and just was too focus on me depositing 15k as though I shouldn't have this type of money. I felt racially profiled with this branch as I am sure many come in there with more than this amount. Later within 2 days of me setting my online account to monitor I was block. Called fraud dept and they advise due to the check of that amount being deposited with no pay stub they will need that copy. I than went into the branch in ****** and spoke with banking manager and I explain what happened. The branch manager was aware of what the teller has done and have not done anything to accommodate me for this inconvenience, no accountability for the action. The branch manager did advise to provide the pay stub which I did on Friday March 29, 2024. The documents were not sent until I called the branch office Monday to confirm if they sent the documents needed, thus prolonging the investigation status as the fraud department threaten to close my account. I called the ****** branch office again requesting the Branch to take accountability for what they did mistakenly, otherwise this will lead to legal action and they just brush it off as this was a joke and they advise they did all they can do. I am requesting for this branch to do their diligence in releasing the hold from my account and to provide me updated information instead of prolonging this investigation.
