Last week, I discovered that my credit card had been billed $195 by the American Bar Association. When I called about it I was told that it was a subscription renewal.I told ABA that I never intended to renew the subscription. I have not used it and I wanted that money refunded to my credit card. I was told that I had been sent an email advising me that I needed to take action to stop an automatic renewal. I had been ill for the last few months and fell behind on checking emails. I did not see the email. I told them I had not seen the email and also how this unintended charge had hurt my finances. I begged them to use discretion and refund my money since I neither intended to renew, nor even used the service. The speaker said he would cancel the service but would not refund the charge since it was against their policy. I have not used the service for this subscription term and do not intend to do so. How can anyone cancel a service without refunding the service payment? It is extremely unfair for them to keep $195 for a service that I did not use, and do not intend to use. I want my $195 refunded.
