I purchased a cockatiel 3/18/2022 at petland bolingbrook. Very excited as it was a gift for my fiance. 2 days later the bird starts showing symptoms or illness. I call petland explaining the bird is couging an weezing. *****, tells me to "take to the vet. To get a check up." I take the cockatiel to the vet. As the birds at the vet the **** right off the bat is $500.00 do the the vet saying cockatiel needs oxygen an has respitory signs aswell as green uruates. I call PETLAND store back an talk to *****. Tells me to proceed. Will be reimbursed after going through the pet solutions claim process. So i proceed with the process for the cockatiel. The following day, the vets gave him more meds. After picking him up had to do a 7 day medicine treatment with 5-7 liquids. The total OUT OF POCKET **** is now $1628.42. I call the claims department going through all the steps. I talked to a handful of people in the department about the **** ( ******* ******** ******** ******** ******* (ALL CLAIMS ***** EMPLOYEES)) explaining how I have only owned the bird for 2 days an had to pay that amount. Talking to so many people i got offers of reimbursement for the bird, material. Then bird, material, half of vet ****. They even offered me to exhchange birds after the fact I just got done taking the bird to the vet an recieving medicine for it. After going back an forth i even asked them ill take the full reimbursement in STORE CREDIT. Just to speed up the process because i shop there all the time. I requested to talk to an even higher up person. Which I did get in contact with.
