    An order was placed for ********************* on January 14, 2021, for a SlingStudio GearClubDirect pack. The order was placed by our secretary, **************************. We were notified that the items were on backorder. After several follow up phone calls over the course of several months, Gear Club Direct shipped just the SlingStudio device and an after-market power supply. They agreed to refund $649 of the purchase since they were not able to get the batteries that were part of the pack. The items arrived in the Summer of 2022. The item that was shipped was used. They were contacted and we were told that the item could not be returned and that they had told our secretary that it was an "open box" item. It was not "open box!" There was no box; the whole unit was wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in a brown box. There was not the original power supply or any literature, warranty info, etc. Now, four months later, they have not issued the refund of $649. They have been contacted multiple times and on two occasions *************************** (sp?) has stated that the check has been mailed. No check has been received. When we try to call now, we are told that she is not in the office.

    I had a terrible experience with renting DJ equipment from Gear Club Direct and would not recommend them to anyone. The equipment was inexcusably late, the company was unprepared to fulfill the order on-time despite repeated confirmation, and the customer service was neglectful to say the least. Heres my encounter:I booked equipment for my wedding and the plans were made for Gear Club Direct to deliver the equipment at 9 a.m. so things could be set up before the party started at 4pm and before the chaos of having all of my dearest friends and family arrive. By 10:30 a.m. the equipment was nowhere to be found, and we called repeatedly, with very limited response. Itll be there in 30 minutes ***** said. After an hour I called again; Any moment now, he responded. 11:00 . . . Noon . . . 1:00 pm; By 1:30 I thought for sure Id been scammed, esp. as ***** said that I needed to enter in more credit card info at the most recent call that went through. My first and second cards were maxed out by the order and I had to ask a family member at the last moment for a third credit card for things to go through, but with people starting to show up, and no sign of equipment, and eventually no response to calls, I thought that Id been completely 100% scammed. By 2:30, I had my wedding suit on and was using my right arm to walk my 90-year-old grandmother to her seat and my left arm to hold the cellphone while I tried to cancel all of the $5000 credit transactions to GCD. My heart was pounding; the equipment was easily the most expensive part of the wedding. Our calls were actually being screened: it wasnt until we asked friends to call GCD from their phones that we got a response. I had no other option but to go with it.The equipment finally arrived at 3 p.m.; family rushed to set it all up. This could have been avoided by communicating credit requirements and that GCD would be unable to deliver the equipment.
