Date of transaction: 9/15/2022 The business committed to moving my furniture from one apartment (************) to another apartment (22N ******) a mile away. I was quoted 600 and paid about **** + 240$ tip. This is not the base of my issue at all. I had my possessions boxed up ready to go besides my closet. I told them I would move the boxes and my closet and that I just needed them to move my furniture. I let the movers in, they had a reserved elevator and loading dock. I go to work. I meet them at my new apartment. They begin to unload my furniture. They are carrying things strapped to their back up staircases, secured to their back simply with a towel they are holding. Very unsafe. One mover gets to a bedroom and stood up and dropped a marble nightstand, shattering it. This same mover and another drop several more pieces of furniture. I try to help them and notice they both reek of alcohol. I bring this up to my gf, she says maybe they went out last night. I then watch them unload an unwrapped and uncovered (agreement included wrapping) dining table directly into the *************** and slide it across the sidewalk. The table is ruined. They then roll a large lovesac directly into the busy road 5 feet away from construction workers in a sinkhole. They had two trucks (owner didnt even know they took 2) and one was completely empty. 2 trucks, 3 guys, 2 of them drunk. Who is driving? I go back to my old apartment for a final walk through. I find open containers of my alcohol, in addition to missing bottles of hard liquor (and seltzers). My possessions are rifles through. Furniture is left all over the place. I didnt even have very much furniture! They spent several hours drinking my booze instead of packing and then drove large trucks through the crowded streets. They destroyed my things and stole. The owner said he would make it right and gives me the run around. Thousands of dollars of damage. Had to take a day off work and rent a truck to finish moving.
