      Some disturbing problems with a recent move:1. The movers arrived smelling strongly of marijuana.2. An "extra" worker was sent. He was obviously ill (contagious??) and only worked part of the time- Had to lie down in truck; spent much time in the bathroom. After speaking with the scheduling manager about this, I was told that I wasn't charged for his time.3. After the movers left, I discovered a large cigarette burn on the top surface of my recently refinished antique wooden sewing machine cabinet. (During a previous move by this company, one year ago, the corner of an antique mirror was cracked off.) I have not contacted the moving company owners about the cigarette burn damage. I reported the other issues, but received no apology or sense of concern.

      Hello ****,1) I apologize for not getting back to you, we have been working around the clock with no days off due to the nationwide labor shortage and how in demand our company is.I sincerely meant to acknowledge your concerns but it honestly slipped my mind.***** said you sent me a text, but you must have texted the wrong phone number.My cell number is **************) The marijuana smell. One of our employees is prescribed medical marijuana for his anxiety and depression. As an employer I have to tread lightly when it comes to this topic as it is legal in Illinois. I do request that he does not do it while working as there is still a negative stigma attached to his "medicine". I do have to say he does seem much clearer compared to when he was prescribed Xanax and I have not observed a lack in his performance. I apologize that this offended you.2) I did not send an extra employee, but rather charged for three($155 per hour) when we sent 4($180 per hour), employees to handle your project and unfortunately one of them became ill as the day progressed, we were out of state and he could not be sent home. Most of our employees are vaccinated and due to the fact that we are in people's homes everyday I do require weekly covid tests. I spoke with our team and they said Bal was under the weather but did work to the best of his ability(the crew said he was at 80%) and his effort did help speed up the moving process. But since he was not 100% we did not **** you for his time.As you can see, he did not have covid, he simply had a bad cold.As far as the damaged issues.The framed of the mirror where the chip occurred last year you and I discussed and agreed we would take care of it when you moved, which I am happy to take care of that for you.The cigarette burn, I spoke with the moving crew and they have no idea how this could have happened. The furniture was blanket wrapped from last move and their is absolutely no smoking allowed in our truck. The only time the piece was unwrapped was when it was in your home.In closing I would like to say I feel our team did provide a good service in less than desirable conditions, cold and rain.
