I signed up for an insurance policy with an effective date 06/01/2023 with an agent of this carrier over the phone, who told me the insurance was PPO insurance provided by MultiPlan (the largest PPO insurance provider in the market) . 12 days after signing the policy, I received the insurance card in the mail only to find out that Multiplan is not the insurance provider. I then contacted this agent office again about the fact that I feel lied to since I made it very clear that I did not want to have an insurance carrier that we will struggle to use because of it being new or not known by providers. The person I spoke to re-assured me that, that the limited benefit is just a discounted network and that we should not have any issues assessing medical service providers from network.In October, 2023 we decided to get our annual check only for us to find out that our primary health provider who is in network does not accept our insurance. The same month, I went to go see a sleep specialist who is in network. They accepted my insurance but had to place $225 on my debit card because they were not sure about the insurance company. I was later told by the provider that a claim has been filed and they will let me know of any development.Claim numbers 223-001054742-00(for specialist visit) was for $170. This claim is pending and has not been paid. The provider has sent the bill which would charge to my card because insurance has not paid them. The Claim number 223-0001017026-00 (cpap device) is showing in the system as denied. I have already paid for this.My wife went to see an OBGYN in the same month and that claim is also pending in the system. Claim number 223-0000981838-00. This claim shows in the insurance portal as $396 billed amount, but the provider just sent us a bill of $651.25 because our insurance has not paid any of their claims. We would have to pay out of pocket before this goes into collections. Such a horrible experience. I need all premium refunded.
