            Advertising Review:

            BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising. These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges. BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, remove misleading or deceptive statements and comply with the BBB Code of Advertising. 

            On 4/19/2022, BBB contacted Green T Services regarding its advertised promotion on their website and ValPak advertisement that stated:

            "$7 WINDOW
            Buy 1 Window, Get the 2nd for $7"

            The BBB requested that Green T Services modify its advertisement to comply BBB Code of Advertising which states (in part): 

            14. “Free” 
            14.3 In a negotiated sale, no “free” offer of a product or service should be made where it would likely mislead consumers, such as where:

            14.3.1 The product or service to be purchased usually is sold at a price arrived through bargaining, rather than at a regular fixed price; or 
            14.3.2 There may be a regular price but other material factors such as quantity, quality or size are arrived at through bargaining. 
            14.4 Offers of “free” products or services which do not meet the provisions of this section may not be corrected by the substitution of such similar words such as “gift,” “given without charge,” “bonus,” “complimentary” or other words which can convey the impression to the consumer that a product or service is “free.”

            14.5 Because the consumer continually searches for the best buy and regards the offer of “free” products or services to be a special bargain, all such offers must be made with extreme care so as to avoid any possibility that consumers will be misled or deceived. Representative language frequently used in such offers includes:

            “Free” 
            “Buy 1-Get-1 Free” 
            “2-for-1 Sale” 
            “50% off with Purchase of Two” 
            “$1 Sale” 
            “1/2 Off” 
            “Gift with Purchase” 
            Literally, of course, the advertiser is not offering anything “free” (for example, an unconditional gift), or 1/2 free or 2 for 1 when making such an offer, since the consumer is required to purchase a product or service in order to receive the “free” or “2 for 1” item.

             

            As of 4/29/2022, the business has removed the promotions from the website and the business has informed the BBB that they will work on modifications to the Valpak ads for the future to meet the BBB Code of Advertising.

            Lawn care services include fertilization, weed control, grub and insect control, disease prevention, aeration and overseeding, and tree and shrub care. In exterior installations, Green T Services installs doors, windows, siding, gutters, soffit, and fascia. They install US made vinyl windows available in a variety of sizes and options, including decorative styles, and US made fiberglass and steel doors with glass options.             I retained Green T to clean airducts, ceramic tile, and carpeting on Wednesday, August 9th. On Thursday, I noticed that the ** was not working and called the company asking for a service tech to come back to investigate/resolve the issue. Service Manager, *****, immediately responded with statements about how Green T does not touch the HV** system so it couldn't be there fault. Then he theorized that the service tech may have forgotten to turn the "master switch" back on and told me to "go to the basement and find the switch next to the HV** system and flip it". When I explained that I could not do this as I had had foot surgery 48 hours earlier, he said there was nothing he could do. He was unrelenting in not offering to assist in anyway and in not caring that his company had seemingly made a mistake. What I repeatedly heard was how he did not have a tech in the area, and how they had families to go home to, how they did not have time to assist, and how there was nothing they could do.After getting a neighbor to come over and turn my HV** system back on, we discovered that it was not cooling - simply blowing room temperature air. I called back on Friday and again heard, over and over, how Green T does not "touch the HV** system" so they could not have created the problem which was attributed to "coincidence". I explained that when the system was turned back on, it was observed that the air filter door was not fully closed, that there was a loud rattling noise, and that a bottle of lubricant was found on the floor next to the system indicating that there was interaction with the HV** system. ***** then accused me of being "aggressive" in wanting the company to investigate and resolve the problem. He very reluctantly agreed to send a service manager on Monday to "confirm that the airducts were appropriately cleaned". I am now required to pay an HV** company overtime to resolve the issue.             "Green T Services", did our duct work about in 2021 years ago, and in a few weeks the dust was flying around, and it's still a problem. I'm constantly dusting every 3 days, after those 2 years! The dust is everywhere, not worth the $700.00 paid.We did call the company about 1 year ago and received a return call but because of other circumstances, mostly health problems, I didn't return the call.

            We provided ***** air duct service March 2, 2021. This service included scrubbing of the ductwork and vents,removal of physical debris and a filtration of the system's allergens.When the service was completed, we walked the customer through our process and payment was provided.Once a system has been cleaned, it is the customers responsibility to maintain their home filtration system. By doing regular maintenance, the home's allergens will be kept at minimal level. This home is equipped with an electronic filtering system for their air flow. This system needs to be maintained according to manufacturer's specific directions and regularly inspected. Without the proper maintenance, the filtration system will not be effective. This allows allergens, including dust and debris to not only flow through the system, it flows readily through the home. We here at Green T, we pride ourselves on our customer service and communication. When the customer contacted us, we responded promptly. Unfortunately, this is the first communication we have received since then.Due to the duration since the initial job was completed, we can no longer offer a redo of the service. We are willing to offer a reclean at a reduced cost to assist the customer.Please advise us, if the customer would like to take advantage of this offer.
