On 11/12/2020 ***************************, who had done some large jobs for us previously and with whom we had a ten year relationship, arrived at my home after being contacted by us to do some work. He and his crew proceeded to work on my yard for 2-3 hours that afternoon. He said he had a lot to finish and would be back the following day. He asked me for payment, and given our long relationship I did not ask for contract. He said it would be $960.00 and I made out a check in that amount to him.He never arrived the following day and not any time after that. My wife contacted him finally for fear that he or a loved one had taken ill with COVID. He finally returned her call and said yes that his mother had taken ill.I asked him about coming back to finish his work and he said he did come back the following day. He did not. This is a lie and I confronted him. And he still stated he was here. My wife and I are both retired and we were here and he did not return.I want some if not most of the $960.00. If this were for an eight-hour work day that would be $120/hour. Since his crew worked for three hours on the 12th and never returned, I believe I am owed $600.00 returned to me for failure to perform services.
