This company is the worst. I started my savings account while I was a City of Chicago employee. I have been trying for over a year to close my saving account. Because I stopped working for the city of Chicago, and the automatic deposits out of my paycheck have stopped, they started deducting $8 a month from my account because of account inactivity. I work out-of-state now and I cannot get to their bank on time during the work week. I have left multiple email requests requests asking to close my account because of the deductions that are draining my savings. keep coming. NO ONE EVERY ANSWERS MY EMAILS!!!! NO ONE EVER CALLS ME! THERE IS NO WAY TO TALK TO A HUMAN BEING!!!! I CANNOT make it to their office and their online website *****. They have terrible hours and they have terrible customer service. I have never gotten any response to my inquiries. I cannot use the online Netteller system because they will not accept my registration. WHY DOESN'T ANYONE RESPOND??? I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!! Stop Robbing me! There is no one calling me back. I have been unable to reach anyone by phone, email, or in writing. I warn people to not conduct business with the Chicago Municipal Employees Credit Union. SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND INACCESSIBLE. They ****. Hopefully, I will get my money back somehow. before my account is drained.

I accessed the phone teller number to obtain money from my account. The directions are difficult to follow. I contacted *********** and spoke to "*********" who listened to my problem and addressed my issue promptly. She responded as quickly as she could and she was so patient and courteous and resolved my issue to complete my request for funds from my account. She was "Excellent"**************************

The only reason I have this bank is because it was provided to me through ****** when I traded my car in. However, I believe that I can get better service somewhere else and will move forward looking into my options. I call and call and there seems to only be one call rep and they don't understand the issue at hand. No one from management has returned my calls or anything as requested through the call rep. I've been dealing with this issues for over 6 months. Back in *** is the only time I received a call back and that was because I left a voicemail on who knows who phone, they were the only assistance I've ever received! I do not recommend this bank for any services. If you are in charge of loans and other finances you should be easily accessible and they are NOT!! Terrible bank all in all.

The worst use friendly website in loan payment history. Unable to cancel/change payments of any kind on your loan. Waited on hold for over an hour trying to get a hold of them to cancel my recurring payment after my car was totaled. Was told I would get a call back in 5 minutes and was never called back. This company couldn't care less about their customers or solutions to their own problems cause by their own software. Safe to say dealing with this company has been a nightmare.

A person has called me numerous times identifying as a manager of Chicago Municipal Credit Union and asking to speak to someone I do not know. I have repeatedly told them I do not know this person, that this has been my phone number for over a decade, and I have asked them to stop calling me. They continue to call and repeatedly leave voicemails. I have asked them to stop so many times, but they keep calling and clogging up my inbox. They refuse to delete my number from their system and claim to have no control over their system calling me.

I have been a City of Chicago Employee for over 25yrs and have been a member of this credit union for at least 15yrs. I contribute through payroll deduction. Throughout my membership I have taken out to loans and have paid them back through payroll deductions, most currently I have left to pay an estimate of $2200 on a $8000 loan that was taken out in year 2019. I wanted to borrow $15000 take care of personal expenses(medical bills, tuition, etc.) and the underwriter who happens to be the *** comes back with $5000 minus the balance of the current loan, which would give us an estimate of $3200 that we would be paying on. Our credit for the previous loans was 100points lower than our current score 677 and my wife 698. So I have come to the conclusion that Chicago Municipal Employees Credit union wasn't going to make much money on our loan because of a decent credit score. Keep in mind before we got the final decision, I had increased my payroll deduction by $100per pay period. After being a long time member, I have come to the conclusion that this credit union is in the same category as predatory lending. This experience has me definitely re-evaluating whether I keep my money there or not. "

Was with this company for < 6 months before refinancing to a different credit union for my auto loan. In that short time, they attempted to erroneously charge me for delinquency twice. I pay in full and in advance, but they couldnt manage the terms (literally just principal amount and due date) for a simple auto loan. Their 'trained professionals' could not even articulate simple details on my account or loan activity (e.g. payment dates, settlement dates, *** processing times, etc.).Any average person with auto-pay enabled would have been ripped off north of $700 in this scenario. If this credit union cannot manage the terms of simple loans, they should not be chartered, accredited, and/or able to lend money to the public."
