    On 2/14/2022, I signed contract #***** with Closets by Design to install a custom organization system in my Master Bedroom closet. The total of the contracted work was $3,715 with one payment of $1,857.50 due upon signing contract and the other at delivery. The install was completed on 4/15/2022 at which point I reached out to the company with my issues.The initial consult lasted more than 3 hours in my home and resulted in a 6 page contract/drawings/lists. As I'm not an expert on closets, I trusted that my conversations with the sales rep were accurately reflected in the contract terms that I was signing. Unfortunately, there was one major issue.The sales rep recommended that I could remove my existing closet wiring/rods instead of the company doing it to save a little money. She said that I didn't need to patch the holes because the panel backing would cover it. Unfortunately, without me scrutinizing the contract, I didn't realize that panel backing was an option and the sales rep ****** that I was opting out of the backing. As a result, it wasn't installed and the damaged walls show and look terrible.After install, I inquired with ***** at Closets by Design about resolution of the issue and was told it would cost $1,160 to remove the installed components, install the paneling and then reinstall the components. I expressed my frustration about the fact that back paneling had been discussed and was basically told "you opted out on the contract". The lack of willingness to work out a resolution that doesn't cost me an additional $1k + of money is frustrating given the significant amount that I've already paid.

    *****************************(pleasant)explained that with ongoing discount,her designer discount,&multi-space discount(did 4 closets)wed get approx 50% discount(bringing our cost to approx $8k)!Installation began 10 weeks later(12/1/21).Closets were installed in 1 day& they looked TERRIBLE.2 youngsters did installation& it was obvious they didnt give care!We remodeled the entire house-everything was new &freshly painted.When installing,they scratched walls&ceilings in places where there was no closet,used chipped panels in all closets, created tons of holes when s******* closets in,broke off large piece of panel&instead of telling us they damaged it &would give us a new one, they patched it &hoped we wouldnt notice.Husband set a date for them to come back& repair damages.They came for repairs on Friday(2/18/22) mid-day.EVERY closet needed to be repaired &they ran out of time(go figure).They did 1 closet that day.Damages were SO bad (more damage&nonsense).They said theyll be back to finish rest Tues.(3/1/22)not the following week, but week after.Unprofessional!Spoke w/ ***** who said *****(manager)will reach out to my husband-never did.Called ***** &told her what I thought,how horrendous&sloppy job was.Told her of my photos of closet that was finished/repaired& she told me to send them to *****.Sent photos,he asked me to explain which panels were still damaged.Told him Im not explaining anything because I dont want them to touch the closet!He offered a discount of 5%.HA! I told him thats an insult & a slap in the face for everything we dealt with!His response to that-nothing!Workers came Tues. morning as scheduled (3/1/22)&finished repairing damages.I cleaned the closets & was appalled.How could such a professional company do such a TERRIBLE job?We dont want them back at our house again.For 8k(w/ a 50% discount)you expect the closets to be decent.************************* sent warranty which had all wrong info(name,address,job#,date)If I didnt check,they wouldnt either!

    Hello BBB, We install 1000's of projects a year. We have close to 5 star reviews on all social media sites. We care highly about our quality and craftmanship. Are we perfect...NO. However, we pride ourselves in ensuring we return until the job is done to the customers satisfaction. This situation did not relate to a catastrophic structure issues that we walked away from. This is related to addressing what most folks would call "minor dings" .We apologize now as we have directly to the customer and have attempted to repair any and all issues. However, as the customer states in her comments, she does not want us in the house. We certainly have had to return to homes to satisfy any and all concerns any of our customers have. We have never had a situation like this where the customer says do not come back... or we would have.On a separate note, the customer also likes to throw full names of our employee's on the internet, which we are not sure why they would endanger our employees like that, other than her desire to shame our employees online. That is just vengeful and uncalled for. If there is an issue, then call out the company, not hard-working, yet fallible fellow individuals smearing there good name on the internet. I would ask via this note for the customer to consider these folks with families just trying to make a living and just edit to omit last names for there privacy and security. I am sure she would not want her daughters or sons treated in this manner. It is just the right thing to do. TY.After all of this, if the customer allows our return to inspect ALL the issues and concerns, we will continue to work to make it right. We always do.
