I bought 2 new wall to wall carpets from *****'s Floor Covering on Aug. 18. Two installers came on Sept. 8th. I specifically mentioned to the installer in the living room that the walls are soft natural pine and scuff & scratch easily. Later I noticed large scuffs & scratches in some areas of the paneling, especially the built-in ***************** along the low areas of all the walls. I left a message & spoke to ***** the next day who made an appt. to look at it on Monday. His daughter ****** came too who sold the ************ said they knew about the paneling. I only showed them the areas in question. ***** was in denial & said that the carpet had a soft backing and couldn't do the damage yet he was trying to RUB the scratches out of the cabinets?! He also said I wouldn't have noticed previous damage because the furniture was there, but I know my ********** wasn't all there when the furniture was moved! I asked if the tools touched the the ********** said they never touch. I found out they use a tool called a "carpet ******" that scrapes down along the bottom of the walls, so I was blatantly lied to! I mentioned hiring a "furniture repair expert" to repair their damage & I would also hire them to fix the old marks at my expense as I was remodeling/repairing for resale soon. I was told they would discuss it and get back to me, 10 days and no word! Guess they don't think I need to return the furniture in place and live in disarray forever! I had to return the antique fireplace screen as it was pushed to the wall & marked up from the "white carpet backing"! I had to scrub mud from shoes on tile, got a cold from one installer who was obviously sick, a drink was spilled on the hardwood & not cleaned up! No respect for property! I expected a more professional response than lies & denial & wish ****** would have mentioned all the foot prints & tracking too. I would have chosen a different carpet, but I would never hire them again! I will take pics before & after any job.
