I have two dates of transaction the first one being on 6/10/22. I took my 2011 Chevrolet Traverse to get checked for the check engine light being on. Midas let me know there was a diagnostic charge. I recall asking if I got it fix with them would the diagnostic charge be waived they said no. I agreed and left the Traverse with the shop. They called me to let me know that it was the spark plugs and ignition coil #6. Midas gave me the total of $904.80. I agreed. I pick up my Traverse a on 6/10/22. No check engine light is on. On 6/11/22 which is the next day the check engine light was on. I called Midas and they said they wanted the same technician to check it out and he would not be in till Wednesday 6/15/22. I take it in on that day. Midas keeps the Traverse. I get a call later that day stating it was the left side catalytic converter and that some transmission codes are still on from the last time. Hence they never mentioned transmission codes the first time. Midas told me they didn't say anything because they do not deal with transmissions. Midas mentioned the vehicle has two catalytic one on the left and one on the right. I asked him is there any codes popping up with anything else other than the left catalytic and transmission codes. Midas employee states no codes are popping up and that this would get the catalytic code gone completely. I asked about guarantees and any other issues that might come up. At the end of the conversation we agreed to fix the catalytic converter for $1095.94. On 6/18/22 I pick up the traverse with no check engine light. The next day which is 6/19/22 the check engine light is on again. On 6/20/22, I take it to a different mechanic to have a second opinion they let me know that the left catalytic converter is the issue. I take the truck back to Midas on 6/22/22, they check it and tell me it is now the right catalytic converter when no codes were showing before and they guaranteed me the issue would be fix the second time.
