    I took my car in for several lights on the dashboard - engine, etc. - for three weeks they held it and every time I called I received a different answer about what was wrong. First it was my brakes, then my alignment, then my diesel converter, then my filter, then they told me none of that was wrong at all and they were using my car to teach a class on diagnostics. I got it back three weeks later after 12 calls in which no one gave me straight answers. When I got it back, none of the buttons on my steering wheel worked, my horn was out, my wheel clicked, and my airbag on the drivers side had obviously been deployed and stuffed back into the wheel. When I called to tell them this after picking it up they assured me it would be free to fix. When I dropped it off they told me since my airbag light had been on when I came in, they would charge me full price for everything. They kept it for another two weeks and many calls. I paid $1300 for them to change the airbag igniter and tell me everything was fixed, only to find out that the cruise control and horn still dont work. They will not discuss with me and remain ********** was my fault even though they have charged me $1500 overall to have a car that is still in worse shape than when I brought it in. Truly I have never had such a terrible experience with a business of any kind. Do not take your car there under any circumstance. even if they were capable of fixing it, they would overcharge you and keep it for weeks.

    We took our car into Logan Square Auto Repair based on the reviews online and talking to **** on the phone after a local auto shop was charging us exorbitant amounts on fixing an *** system issue which wouldnt allow us to pass an emissions test. We specifically said that an evaluation of the wiring was the next recommendation. The problems came when **** performed a diagnostic. We were informed that our car again was passing a mechanics emissions test, however the emissions would fail due to a vapor canister issue. They noticed nothing wrong with the *** system. We paid over a thousand dollars for the vapor canister and they took it in to the emissions test. Surprise the *** system continued to not register and the car would not pass an emissions test. They finally did an official diagnostic of the wiring. They found a zip tie was around the wiring from a prior repair. The zip tie was cut and the car passed the emissions test. The biggest issue with Logan square came next. When asked why the initial wiring was not looked at, the answer was because of a trial and error approach to fixing the problem. We had informed them that this was the expected evaluation given the previous paid for opinion from another auto repair company. And when we were informed that a diagnostic was performed, it was the expectation that a complete diagnostic was done and that no wiring issue was found. Additionally given that no issue with a vapor canister was ever discovered on prior diagnostics, the trial cost us over $1000. When questioning the mechanic **** about this, he became derogatory, angry and rude. (yelling at me over the phone) He handled it poorly and goaded us into writing this review. I dont know if the repair they did is wrong, but I know we were NOT LISTENED TO and were TREATED RUDELY.

    ********, its truly discouraging that this repair and your visit spiraled towards this end. But there is a need to properly explain the repair since the choice of words have only served to aggravate the events for the reader. Your repair was never a trial and error, vehicle had engine light which needed canister replacement to pass emissions. ******** was quoted to you as a cost of a little over $1k which you approved, which is what made the vehicle pass. There was a complication during emission testing due to a previous establishment trying to repair your vehicle by adding a zip tie. Not sure if you have left a review for them yet, assuming their repair was not free and did nothing for the vehicle. We did go above the promised time frame, but we kept you in the loop. My guess is this that *** have caused frustration during the repair process. Given the request for us to drive the car to emissions after repairs, the vehicle time with us is always a bit more than just the repair time. I would also like to note the previous repair shop locked vehicle out of EPA testing due to the several failed attempts. I apologies if somewhere along the lines we missed in our performance, but we thought we had performed better. Specially since taking vehicle to emission is not part of the services we provide, also corrected a previous repaired made by another, and never expressed or mentioned any additional cost. During pick up is when you made us aware of your dissatisfaction and demanded a lower cost. Unfortunately, there was no compromised around your demands and is probably what aggravated the situation. We asked for a bit more understanding given that we not only completed what was requested but correct someone elses repair and additionally did a service out of our services provided. Lastly, not agreeing to someones demands is not undermining them or been rude, we just feel that we had the right to stand behind our service cost given a prior approval on repairs.
