Robert Blyth had worked with my elderly Mother back in 2015 on her will and some of her estate work., He had quite a bit of personal information of my Mothers. When she passed away this week, my sister and I came from out of State to meet him. He met with us for about 2 hours. He told us he needed ALL OF OUR personal information including that of OUR Children, (who were on the will). When I mentioned my Mom;s condo and the items in it, I mentioned that there were several items we were donating to the Holocaust Museum. Mr Blyth then said "Your Mom was a Holocaust survivor, THAT'S COOL". I thought that was one of the most obtuse statements Ive ever heard and wondered how my Mom ever got Mr Blyth to represent her as she would be offended by a statement like that.. Regardless, We sat and met with Mr. Blyth and some of his staff and provided all of our personal information including DRIVERS LICENSE numbers, SOCIAL SECURITY numbers, PHONE numbers, ADDRESSES for 6 people. They now had OUR personal information. We left their office planning to come back later in the week with the grandkids to fill out whatever Mr Blyth would needafter mt Moms funeral when Mr Blyth himself personally called me in our car as we just left his office and were driving back to the hotel we were staying at. Mr Blyth called me personally and said he would NOT be representing me in this case. I couldnt believe it and couldnt understand it. He did not give me an explanation, nothing. He was someone my Mother trusted for years (which was the only reason we met him) and had all of my oms important paperwork but he called me after JUST LEAVING HIS OFFICE and said he wouldnt represent me. It then dawned on me that either he didnt want to work with my Mother's family anymore because he just found out we were children of Holocaust survivors, or he was only meeting with us to get all our personal information, which he got under the guise of representing us in the closing of our Moms estate. So this whole meeting may have been a ruse or SCAM to gain the private information of 6 relatives of a client of his in order to possibly scam some funds. He didnt even mention returning the paperwork WE FILLED OUT on us and our 4 kids. I had to call back the next day and demand they send it back to us. I was planning my Moms funeral and now had to find ANOTHER Attorney for something we trusted Mr Blyth as being. He refused to send me my Moms paperwork also saying they were allowed to keep it because it was a separate contract with my Mom back in 2015. I am going to ask the Illinois Attorney General to investigate Mr Blyth and associates for several issues, which I laid out here. I have never met someone so politically incorrect masking as a professional with no regard for the issues my sister and I were going through that week at my Moms funeral. I still cant believe it.
