On December 9, 2021, I (*********************) retained Wakenight & Associates, P.C., to represent me in pending or anticipated litigation regarding the following matter and Wakenight accepted this employment: Representation in __Will __ County divorce case.1) OBJECTIVES: The initial objectives of this representation were as follows:a) Secure entry of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders b) ****** the case with an Acceptable Agreement.On January 3, 2022, a retainer fee in the amount of $3,000.00 was paid to Wakenight & Associates, P.C.On January 4, 2022, after a night to sleep on it, I decided to terminate my engagement agreement with *********************************************** the DocuSign agreement, "7) CLIENT has the right to terminate this Agreement at any time. In the unexpected and unanticipated event that she chooses to terminate this Agreement, she shall do so in a writing".My reason for terminating the agreement was solely because I felt I would feel more comfortable with working with a firm that specializes in QDRO's and was local to the ****************** area where my Divorce was originally filed instead.I emailed **** Wakenight on January 4, 2022, at 1:23 pm to inform him of my decision to terminate the agreement.**** Wakenight responded to my email on January 4, 2022 at 3:03 pm. His response to my email is as follows:"Hi Lionel,I'm sorry this did not work out. Feel free to call again.I will look at the file and have a refund sent to you next week.Stay Safe."In the subsequent days that followed, i reached out to Mark's office multiple times inquiring about my refund. On each occasion, i was rudely talked to and told that my check had been mailed.As of today, January 14, 2022, I still have not received my refund of my retainer fee of $3,000.00 as I was promised.
