I tried United for the fist after reading so many glowing reviews of the "economy plus" seating. I'm 6'4" and need the room. I departed on 3/27/04 from *** - "6 inches extra leg room" was misleading if not entirely dishonest - the seat itself was so narrow, the seat cushions were non existent... 5 hrs later in a lot of pain from the lack of cushioning nor any reasonable extension of the seat, it was clear I had suffered for the false advertising. The experience was so awful and painful for me that I instead purchased a return ticket on another airline. The gate activity at *** was madness... workers not communicating, the person announcing groups was hidden behind the podium and no one could hear him... chaos and frustrations seen on my face and the faces of other passengers.... no order, no management, a complete free for all. I should have turned around and gone to another airline after just witnessing this madness and mismanagement. Flying United was horrible and painful physically. and I demand that the return flight charges be refunded - no credits, a REFUND of the return leg of my RT ticket that I paid a premium and received nothing but pain stuffed in those horrid seats. False advertising about "economy plus" is epic and disgraceful.
