  • BBB wants to inform consumers that the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) outlines prohibited behavior when companies are attempting to collect a debt and outlines specific rights for consumers.   • BBB reports that in an email received from the business on November 30, 2015, Mr. Dion Barron, company owner, stated that Barron, Gibson, & Phillips, LLC was out of business and no longer operating. In a December 1, 2015 follow up telephone conversation, Mr. Barron agreed to provide responses to the unresolved and unanswered closed complaints by Friday, December 4, 2015. To confirm the December 1, 2015 telephone conversation, an email was sent to Mr. Barron wherein access to these complaints was provided along with chronological information related to previous out of business conversations held with him including: March 12, 2015 - Telephone call with Mr. Barron reporting that the company has been out of business since November 2014 and is no longer operating. However, complaints continue to be filed for actions occurring during this time period. Links to all complaints were emailed to company. July 2, 2015 Telephone call with Mr. Barron who stated the business is closed. However, it explained that complaints are being received during the time frame during which he is reportedly out of business. Mr. Barron stated i wouldn't understand but he will respond tomorrow. July 13, 2015 - Telephone call with Mr. Barron who reported that the company is no longer operating but when informed of current complaint filed for actions occurring during this time period, he also added that the contract for his client would end July 20/21, 2015. He was reminded of complaints to which he stated responses would be received by July 14, 2015. November 30, 2015 Email received reporting the company is out of business and no longer operating. BBB invited the company to provide a response to this information. As of this date, the business has not responded to this information. Finally, the BBB has not received responses to the complaints closed as unresolved or unanswered.
