RDT: Telling America’s Story Through Dance Currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary (2015-16), Repertory Dance Theatre has 375+ historical and newly commissioned dance works currently reside in its living museum which is regularly mined for the Company’s season concerts in Salt Lake City, UT, for touring and for its extensive Arts-In-Education program statewide. Since 1966 Repertory Dance Theatre has been dedicated to the creation, performance, perpetuation and appreciation of modern dance. Its corps of full-time dancers embody works that range from Isadora Duncan to Martha Graham, and from José Limón to Merce Cunningham side-by-side with works from many contemporary working choreographers. In 2006 RDT became the American repository of works created by Japanese national Michio Ito. The Company’s narrated concert Time Capsule: A Century of Dance has toured widely and tells the story of America through dance, just one of many RDT projects funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition to the performance of its repertory, commissions of new dances and its work in Utah’s schools, RDT runs summer and winter dance workshops for pre-professionals, a community school in Salt Lake City and a series of interactive, art appreciation concerts for children and their families. Repertory Dance Theatre is a pillar of the “creatives “industry in the Mountain West, providing jobs, contributing to the vitality of a downtown cultural core, and, as an investor member in the Economic Development Corporation of Utah, helping to attract businesses to Utah.

For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2017, RDT's program expenses were:
