United Way of Lowndes County works to create a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability, and healthy living. The organization raises funds to support local charities in the three main areas to support the Lowndes County community. The organization supports agencies in the county that work with early childhood education and reading initiatives. Additionally, UWLC provides support to local organizations that teach people how to manage budgets and finances so they can become financially stable. According to the organization, in 2015, over $600,000 was raised by United Way of Lowndes County and provided to nonprofits in the community to meet the mission of improving lives and meeting community needs.
