Programs

SLCM seeks to fulfill its mission by providing emergency financial assistance, a Dare to Care food closet, and home delivered meals to seniors. The emergency financial assistance program helps families in crisis pay their utilities, rent, mortgage, or medications and counseling services. We assist over 1,500 households each year with over $180,000 of assistance. Our food pantry provides monthly food orders and weekly produce orders to over 6,000 households (22,000+ individuals) each year, distributing over 195,00 lbs of food. Additionally, we provided baby supplies (250+ families), personal items, clothing and furniture vouchers (100+ families), and employment and information and referral services (6,000+ families). The home delivered meals program assists home-bound seniors in meeting their nutritional needs by providing hot lunch every weekday. Each week approximately 70 older persons receive lunches. We served 115 seniors last year with over 19,000 meals.
