As the state’s largest pet adoption agency and no-kill animal shelter, the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) is dedicated to finding homes for needy shelter animals and reducing the number of pets surrendered to local shelters. Each year, KHS finds homes for over 6,000 dogs and cats; provides low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to over 10,000 animals at our S.N.I.P. Clinic; offers free advice to more than 4,000 pet owners through our free Pet Help Line (502-509-4PET); trains over 900 dogs through our dog training classes; and educates over 500 children at summer camps. Our Pet Resorts – which provide revenue for our mission programs - offer boarding, grooming and doggy daycare for owned pets. In 2015 we launched our Equine CARE (connect, assist, rescue and educate) program, dedicating to helping Kentucky’s at-risk horses.

For the fiscal year ended September 30, 2015, Kentucky Humane Society's program expenses were:

Program services 4,592,591
