Stated Purpose
Erika's Lighthouse is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to educating and raising awareness about adolescent depression, encouraging good mental health and breaking down the stigma that surrounds mental health issues.
Programs
Erika's Lighthouse provides adolescent depression education programs and resources to middle and high school communities at no cost. Our message is that depression is common and can be serious, but is treatable. There is hope. Core programs include Teen Panels and Teen Clubs - a "by teens for teens" depression awareness and stigma reduction program model available to Chicago area high schools. In addition, Erika's Lighthouse offers depression education curricula nationwide for middle school and high school health classroom environments. Erika's Lighthouse also maintains a website, www.erikaslighthouse.org, with the purpose of being a comprehensive teen depression information and resource hub for teens and those who care for them.
