Bounce builds community for chronically ill children and their families.
Programs
Bounce builds community for chronically ill children and their families through ongoing home and community based programs. Combating the deep sense of invisibility and extreme isolation, Bounce builds resilience by bringing members together for fun, friendship, education and encouragement. We support sick kids, their parents, and their siblings, in moving from simply surviving to truly thriving -- until cures are found. And Bounce is unique in doing so. It alone provides ongoing psycho-social support, at home and in the community, to the 15-18% of US children who battle chronic illness each and every day. Our programs target isolation, fear, anxiety and despair by creating fun and friendship, strength and resilience:• Bounce Bash™: Family adventures specially designed for children with complex medical needs to enjoy between hospital visits, with their families and their extended “Bounce Family”.• Bounce Back Kits™: Fun-filled care packages for families ‘locked in’ and unable to leave home.• Bounce Academy™: Education for parents which enhances their ability to cope emotionally, financially, intellectually, and psychologically, all while their kids are close by, safe and entertained.• Bounce Net™: Safe space online where parents form a community of shared support and resources.• Bounce It Forward™: Sports/theatre/other tickets are donated and kids/families enjoy unexpected fun.In short, sick kids can forget about being sick and do what they do best – just be kids – while their siblings and parents experience the bounce back effect of feeling empowered and connected as well.
