To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Programs
BGCC provides culturally competent, developmentally appropriate after - school and summer academic enrichment, tutoring, gender-specific character building, health and fitness, sports and games, and arts programming. These high-quality, nationally-vetted programs include the following: Project Learn, an evidence-based academic enrichment program in math, reading, and science (STEM); Power Hour, homework help in math, reading, and science (STEM) and high-yield learning activities; Money Matters, financial literacy education; Triple Play/Healthy Habits, a promising practice that teaches and provides health-related fitness and nutrition; Passport to Manhood and SMART Girls, gender specific character and health and decision making; Torch Club and Keystone Club, leadership and service activities; Games Room Activities, including sportsmanship and conflict resolution through structured games; and culturally relevant Visual and Performing Arts.
