Programs

              

FIRN is the only nonprofit in Howard County offering: Immigration Counseling at low-cost to the foreign born community in Howard County. All inclusive from reviewing documents to US Citizenship. Information & Referral – We help clients with a wide array of social service issues including access to health care, housing, financial assistance, food, clothing, and more. Including victims of domestic violence. Literacy (Club LEAP) – In partnership with the Howard County Public School System, FIRN’s Club LEAP program sends trained, culturally competent volunteer tutors into six Howard County schools, where they conduct after-school English enrichment activities with small groups of ESOL students Language Connections & Interpreting Services – Language Connections is the only nonprofit interpreter service in Maryland.  Language Connections offers professionally trained interpreters who speak approximately 30 languages.
