BBB’s Center for Character Ethics Announces the 2017 Students of Integrity Scholarship Recipients

Columbus, OH BBB’s Center for Character Ethics honored the 2017 Students of Integrity Scholarship recipients in conjunction with the Torch Awards for Ethics luncheon today. The Students of Integrity Scholarship awards is an annual Future Workforce recognition program that selects and honors Central Ohio high school students who personify high character through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity, and academic accomplishments.

The program, founded in 2002, is open to high school juniors residing in BBB’s 21 county service area. A panel of business leaders and members of the academic community evaluate the entries. Scholarships are awarded to students in the fall of their senior year. The recipients will each receive a $1,000 scholarship toward advancement of their education.

The awards were presented at the 2017 celebration of Torch Awards for Ethics at The Ohio State University Ohio Union. The awards event also honored central Ohio companies that embody BBB’s mission of advancing marketplace trust.

Additionally, Carley Miller was awarded the inaugural Bill Lohta scholarship in honor of long-time Torch Awards for Ethics selection committee member who passed away this year. The scholarship was presented to Carley by Joe Cole, chief selection committee member, and Susan Lohta, Bill’s wife of 42 years.
